Buy the gas, take the hike

Adventures Commence

Thank You for Joining Us As We Opt Outside in Arizona.

“What a great state to be in”  is what we say – and we are not simply talking about state 48. We are talking about the effects of being outside, on our demeanor and our approach to life.

Living in such a hot environment means we live in a tightly controlled space: from our homes to our cars to our places of work and back home. It is actually quite easy during a 110 degree summer to avoid the outdoors all together, or perhaps only briefly walking to and from a vehicle.

Yet this air conditioned-flourescent lit-Netflix culture has something quite valuable to lose: that connection to the land that we survive and should thrive upon. It is the only reason why we are here living, anyways.

In every walk with Nature one receives far more than [s]he seeks.
